Toolbox Workshops

Everyone can benefit from new tools! Our Toolbox Workshops are designed as a benefit to the community, where anyone can come to learn a few new tools for making their lives work a little bit better! These are brief, targeted seminars, ranging from 90 minutes to 2 hours, each focusing on just a couple skills. Classes are small and interactive, and attendees take away skills to improve relationships and effectiveness. General topics included are:

  • Finding Balance - time, money, energy, priorities, and juggling work, home, school, etc.
  • Parenting - workshops for parents of teenagers as well as interactive workshops for parents AND their children aged 6-11, geared towards stepping out of the power struggle and finding better ways to connect and communicate.
  • Unemployment Training - how to cope with rejection, renew your motivation, manage your time and avoid the painful pitfalls.
  • New topics are introduced monthly. Invest an hour or two and improve your life!

  • How does coaching work?

Coaching sessions are goal-focused and can be done in person, via webcam or telephone. Sessions can vary in length and format to suit the needs and the goals agreed upon between the coach and the client. When working towards new goals or establishing new habits, consistency is key, so coaching sessions take place on a regular, consistent basis - often once or twice per week. Assignments are given regularly to help establish a routine and monitor your progress. We recommend enrolling in one of our coaching packages - commit to changing your life by committing to regular and sustained coaching! Remember, you didn't build the life you're living in one day - it will probably take more than one day to change it!

Have a friend who's been trying to make a change and just can't seem to get it to stick? We can help. Gift certificates are available. Help the people in your life become the people they want to be!

    Individual, Family and Group Therapy

Life is quite a journey, and there can be roadblocks you're not prepared to face. Have you ever found yourself walking a path you didn't remember getting on in the first place? Even worse, have you ever deliberately set out on a road and found your way blocked or turned, and you couldn't do a thing about it? Do you find yourself reaching the same intersection over and over again, though you keep setting out in different directions? This happens to everyone, and it certainly makes sense if it stops you in your tracks! Having the guidance and support of a professional can make these trying times a little easier, or the road to recovery that much smoother. There are plenty of situations or events that can lead a person to seek therapy:

  • Difficulty in relationships
  • Depression or anxiety
  • Trying to change a behavior that no longer works
  • Grieving a loss
  • Making difficult decisions
  • Feeling lost, stuck or hopeless
  • Resolving past hurts
  • Difficulty managing emotions and behaviors
  • Transitions and change
  • At times, there are barriers to living a healthy and happy life that are difficult to overcome. Sessions are tailored for your needs and to meet your goals. Let us help you carve out a new map for the life you want to live.

DBT Programs for Adults and Adolescents

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a treatment program that is designed to treat emotion regulation. Sometimes, the behaviors we use are in order to reduce emotional discomfort because it's the only way we know how. DBT offers individuals a program that includes Individual or Family therapy, weekly skills training classes and coaching, in order to help teach new skills and change unwanted behaviors or the intensity of emotions. Oftentimes, doing the same thing over and over again can only serve to make things worse. DBT provides the opportunity to incorporate new skills in order to find what works. Treatment programs are available for both adults and adolescents who are in need. We invite you to visit our WHAT IS DBT page and explore these treatments in more detail.
